The Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Sid’Ahmed Ould Bouh, and the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Mr. Mohamed Ould Khaled, signed on Friday evening in Nouakchott a financing, development, construction, and operation agreement for a 60 MW hybrid power plant (solar and wind) with Mr. Moulay El Arby BABA AININA, Director of the “Iwa Green Energy” Group for green energy.
In his address on this occasion, the Minister of Economy and Finance stated that this project marks the first public-private partnership (PPP) in the energy sector and the first electricity production project developed by private actors in Mauritania. He emphasized that this demonstrates the confidence of investors in the Mauritanian government’s commitment to diversifying the energy production base and providing sustainable energy sources to support the national economy.
